Supported Spindle class August 16 11-1pm

$65.00

Have you been spinning for a bit on a drop spindle but are looking for something easier on your body? Or are you wanting to give spinning cotton a go? We are so excited to Debut this new class for supported spinning. Susan Johnke is an avid support spindle spinner and we have caught the bug! For this class you will want to have some spinning experience, drafting and plying as this will help you when adding the additional elements of balance when spinning supported. You don’t have to be an expert spinner but some experience is necessary beforehand. If you are an absolute beginner feel free to message about a drop spindle class.

In this class you will be learning about the various types of spindles (Russian, Phang, Tibetan; glass tipped and wood tipped) as well as discussing fiber types appropriate for this type of spindle. We will go into fiber prep, drafting and flicking and discuss how to spin in a way that is healthy for your body. Then we will spin!

IMPORTANT: this class requires you to have a supported spindle and bowl. If you would like advice on which ones we recommend feel free to send a message. Tip: a little soy sauce bowl works just fine for a bowl. If you need to borrow one for the class let us know in advance and we may be able to lend you one. All fiber is included in the price of the class. Can’t wait to see ya’ll
